Practitioners must complete a minimum, 2-year service obligation at an eligible practice site/s located in a federally designated health professional shortage area (HPSA).

US citizen, licensed to practice in Iowa, Medical education-related debts

Applications are accepted annually through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The RFP packet is posted each fall on the Iowa Department of Public Health website.

Repayment/Scholarship terms:
|
An applicant must have an employment contract; however, the loan repayment contract period will not automatically coincide with the dates covered by the applicant's employment contract.
|

Amount of repayment per year of service:
|
Provides up to $50,000 for a two year contract period and $25,000 for a two year part time contract period.
|
