Service Requirements (formerly Service Stipulation):
|
Participants receive payments during residency in exchange for a 3-year commitment to practice in a rural Kansas community. An eligible rural Kansas community is defined as any community outside of Sedgwick, Johnson, Wyandotte, Shawnee, or Douglas counties.
Exceptions are made for physicians commencing as a full-time faculty member of the University of Kansas School of Medicine in primary care or psychiatry and the commitment is increased to six years.

Primary care and psychiatry residents that are attending a Kansas residency program.

Applications are accepted September 1st through December 31st each year.

Amount of repayment per year of service:
|
Participants will receive up to $10,000 in state dollars. A community match is encouraged, with at least an additional $6,000 sign-on bonus, for a combined loan of at least $26,000.
