Eligible Specialties:

Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, General Pediatrics, General Internal Pediatrics, General Ob/Gyn, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Geriatrics.

Service Requirements (formerly Service Stipulation):

Practice medicine in a qualified rural community in Arkansas. One year of service for each year of funding.

Who Can Apply:

Any Arkansas resident who is accepted for admission or is on the alternate list at the UAMS College of Medicine.

Application cycle closed.

Repayment/Scholarship terms:

For each year that a student participates (up to four years), they receive $12,000.00 toward their tuition (total $48,000.00). It is repaid through a service commitment.

Amount of repayment per year of service:

For each year of service in a qualified community, $12,000.00 along with that year’s accrued interest is converted to a scholarship .
